Meet Dr. Darren Forcier

Dr. Forcier

"Orthodontics allows me to develop wonderful relationships with my patients and their families. It has always been my philosophy to treat others as I would want to be treated. I work hard to describe each procedure in detail to all of my patients, whether adult or child. I believe that knowledge leads to improved patient comfort, efficient treatment, and eventually the healthiest, most beautiful smile possible." – Dr. Darren Forcier

Working with his orthodontic patients brings Dr. Forcier great personal satisfaction. He not only sees their smiles improve, but their lives transform as their self-confidence increases. Day in and day out, he knows that his profession really allows him to help people. At the same time, he gets to know his patients and develop real relationships with them, learn about their lives, and cheer them on throughout their treatment.

Education and Experience

After majoring in biology and completing a Bachelor of Science degree at Canisius College, Dr. Forcier attended dental school at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2001.

Having received an ROTC scholarship, as well as an Army Health Professions scholarship during school, he entered the United States Army to begin his career as a dentist. Dr. Forcier completed a one-year program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Fort Campbell, KY, where he was exposed to a wide range of dental specialties. It was there that he knew that orthodontics was his passion.

Dr. Forcier’s next assignment afforded him the opportunity to serve overseas in Germany. He served as a dentist in a dental unit that provided direct care to our combat troops. His training and ability to perform complex dental procedures in an austere environment paid off when he volunteered to deploy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Dr. Forcier served in dental clinics across Iraq, including Balad and Al Asad from 2003 to 2004.

Dr. Forcier was then selected to begin specialty training in orthodontics at the Tri-Service Orthodontic Residency Program at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. It was there that he learned about the art and science of orthodontics and the importance of working in coordination with dentists and other specialists in achieving optimum oral health for his patients.

Following his specialty training, Dr. Forcier and his family moved back to Fort Campbell, KY, where he served as Chief of Orthodontics at a post that served 38,000 soldiers, including the Army’s elite 101st Airborne (Air Assault), 5th Special Forces, and 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. He was also on the teaching staff of the very AEGD Residency that he had completed six years prior. Dr. Forcier is very proud of the nine years he served in the Army and considers it not only an honor to have served his country, but especially to have had the opportunity to serve and provide care to the real heroes: the men and women who serve our country in the military.

Although his formal education is complete, Dr. Forcier is always reading orthodontic literature, staying current with professional journals, and attending conferences and seminars. He knows the importance of staying informed concerning developing technologies and techniques. Once they have been proven to be effective methods for treatment, he enthusiastically brings them into the practice. Staying at the forefront of his field means Dr. Forcier is able to provide his patients with modern, efficient care that decreases the treatment duration.

Dr. Forcier is an Invisalign Platinum Plus Provider. To receive this designation, a doctor has completed more than a minimum number of Invisalign cases and treats hundreds of Invisalign cases each year.  With increased cases, comes increased experience and better outcomes.
